Get Well Soon

Do you believe it?  It is December 19th and there is NO snow in Iowa.  I LOVE it.

I was so glad that snow held off as I had card class last night.  It was so nice not to have my customers dealing with slick roads to get to class.  The month before I asked what should I do for December class and it was unanimous that they wanted to do masculine cards.  So this was one of the cards that I came up.   If you really didn't want to add the vellum leaves you could easily leave off.  The girls loved this card and I hope you do also.

Flower Thank You!!

Well, it is cold here in Iowa.  Surprisingly enough we do not have snow here yet.  That is kind of a scary thought cause that means that we are gonna get hit hard in January or February!!!! I sure hope I am wrong cause I could go all winter without snow!! Ok, just a little maybe like lightly falling on Christmas Eve or something but then I am ready for Spring by January.  Is it warm or cold on Christmas where you are at?

I decided on this thank you card cause I am hoping for Spring.  I don't want to wish my life away but I am wishing Winter away.  I love the subtle background folder.  It just gives us that little something-something.

#Simplestamping

When I was at OnStage last month Stampin' Up! challenged us to do some #simplestamping.  So on this snowy and cold day, I decided to give it a try.  We could only use one ink pad and one stamp set.  Well, I think I NAILED it.  I used the Delightfully Detailed Note Cards & Envelopes.  They come already printed with some beautiful watercolor wash.  They are so simple and gorgeous to use.  Just stamp and you are done.

Do you like #simplestamping or prefer more complex stamping?

Get Well Wishes!

Well, we dodged that bullet.  We were supposed to get a huge snow storm this weekend.  Luckily it went south of us and missed us completely.  Some of my friends were not so lucky.  They got 12-14 inches of snow.  It was the heavy wet snow that takes FOREVER to move.  It can't get through a snow blower as it's just too heavy and gets packed in the blower.  If you try and shovel it - it about breaks your back cause it weights so much. So instead of thinking about all the cold and snow,  I thought about all the fun we had at OnStage in Orlando. We celebrated the 30th Anniversary for Stampin' Up! So I thought I would share the card I made for my swaps.

This card was the one that I put together for OnStage.  These were super simple to put together as I had to make over 60 of them.  I needed something that I could mass produce and not break the bank as I had to make so many.  They are simple but pack a punch, I believe.  Hope you enjoy!!

Snowflake Flourish

It is almost Thanksgiving time.  Just a couple more days and I will be eating myself sick!!! This honestly is one of my favorite holidays.  When my parents were alive we would drive to Minnesota to pick them up and bring them back to Iowa.  We would go up on Wednesday and pick them up.  Have Thanksgiving dinner with my whole family.  Then on Friday, the family would all go out for lunch.  After lunch, my husband and I would take them to a casino.  They loved to get out a bit and do a little gambling.  We would come back, eat leftovers and watch a little TV.  We had cable so my dad would sit the rest of the evening and watch westerns.  Man, he loved his westerns.  After breakfast, we would take them back on Saturday.  That way they had a day to recuperate they started there week over again.

When making this card, lots of memories came flooding back so I decided to make this card in my parent's favorite colors.  Shades of blue.  They both loved the color of blue so it reminds me of them during this holiday season.

Hope you enjoy!!!
